The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) and the local soccer community are mourning the loss of Joanne Roth to ALS on January 6. The overflow crowd at the Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside both nights spoke about her kindness. We are all poorer for her loss and will miss her very positive personality and smile.
Joanne, a staple in the Rockville Centre community for over five decades, was married to Rob for more than 25 years and has three children––Donovan, Madison, and Kevin.
She started part-time in the ENYYSA office in 2010 and went full-time in 2015 as State Cup Program Administrator. She also managed Coaching Education, Out-of-State Players, ODP Scholarship Program, State Open Cup, Arch Cup, Kohl’s American Cup and worked closely with the East Region on national and regional events.
A funeral Mass was held at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre on January 10. May our dear friend rest in peace.
