The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. In conjunction with US Soccer Federations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association’s Coaching Education Program offers the latest US Soccer Grassroots License courses.

Where Do I Get Started?

  1. Create a Coaching Education profile at the US Soccer Learning Center << Go to US Soccer Learning Center >>
  2. Complete the cost-free, online "Introduction Course". It represents the first step in the coaching license pathway, is now the and is the required prerequisite to undergo any of U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Licensing Courses.
  3. US Soccer offers Grassroots Courses offer an a-la-carte approach meant to empower coaches with education that is relevant to their specific coaching needs.  Prospective coaches will have the option to partake in any of these new courses – in any sequence – after completing the steps 1 & 2 above. 

Below are details of the US Soccer Coaching Courses offered.

 

4v4 In-Person Course

The 4v4 In-Person Course builds on the principles covered in US Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module.  Specifically, candidates will learn more about US Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 6-8.  The 4v4 In Person courses are 4 hours long and completed in one day.

7v7 In-Person Course

The 7v7 In-Person Course builds on the principles covered in US Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module.  Specifically, candidates will learn more about US Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 9-10.  The 7v7 In Person courses are 4 hours long and completed in one day.

9v9 In-Person Course

The 9v9 In-Person Course builds on the principles covered in US Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module.  Specifically, candidates will learn more about US Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 11-12.  The 7v7 In Person courses are 4 hours long and completed in one day.

11v11 In-Person Course

The 11v11 In-Person Course builds on the principles covered in US Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module.  Specifically, candidates will learn more about US Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 11 & older.  The 7v7 In Person courses are 4 hours long and completed in one day.

USSF D License

The D Course is a 40 to 45-hour course, held over two weekends with at least a month-long developmental period in-between. This course is designed for the experienced coach who has already completed their grassroots level licensing. The focus of this course is to facilitate the improvement of candidates in the Six Tasks of a Coach across all four of U.S. Soccer’s game models (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11) with a particular emphasis on Coaching Training Sessions. Candidates that register for this course are expected and required to attend both meetings.

USSF C License

The C Course takes place over two week long periods, with a two-month developmental period in-between. The program is geared to meet the demands and standards of coaching in a competitive and developmental 9v9 or 11v11 (youth/senior) environment. The program is designed to focus on the basic core concepts of coaching in a 9v9 or 11v11 environment and developing both the individual player and team. Candidates that register for this course are expected and required to attend both meetings.
