January 16, 2025-Brandon Da Costa had a marvelous senior season for Ichabod Crane Central High School in leading the Riders to a 13-4-0 record. Brandon recorded 46 goals and 13 assists, scoring three or more goals in nine games, an amazing tally. His 46 goals were the most by any high school player in New York State last year and he was honored as the Colonial Council Conference MVP.
In the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), the Valatie resident played for Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) clubs Alleycats and now for New York Elite. He has also played for Eastern New York’s Olympic Development Program (ODP).
Sports Illustrated named Brandon won of the Top 25 Boys High School Soccer Players in the United States this past fall. They are conducting a survey to vote for the National High School Player of the Year. Please take a minute to vote before the January 23 deadline.

The New Yorkers represented on the girls side are Maddie Costello of Ward Melville High School and Teigan Cunnane of Albertus Magnus High School and you can vote here.
With over 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 10 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away.
