ENYYSA hosts coaching education in partnership with U.S. Soccer, following the nationally recognized U.S. Soccer Coaching License Pathway—an education journey designed to support coaches from beginner to advanced with the tools, guidance, and mentorship needed along the way.

U.S. Soccer Coaching License Pathway
The U.S. Soccer Coaching License Pathway consists of a series of courses designed to meet the specific needs of a coach at every step of the way. U.S. Soccer believes education is a journey, and our goal is to provide the necessary tools, guidance, and mentorship a coach requires along their way.
* Free Intro Course is a required prerequisite to undergo any Grassroots Courses.

U.S. SOCCER LICENSE PATHWAY
Your Coaching Journey
The pathway meets coaches at every level—starting with Grassroots and progressing as your experience and coaching environment grow.
Grassroots Licenses
Foundation of the pathway. Age-appropriate coaching through small-sided game models for beginner and travel coaches.
D License
Practical application, session planning, and coach development. For coaches in participation-level environments.
C License
Links weekly training to matchday performance. Designed for coaches working with U13+ players who love to compete.
B License
Advanced player & team development in a performance environment. Highest performance step before A Licenses.

COURSES & LICENSES
Licenses Offered by ENYYSA
ENYYSA hosts courses in partnership with U.S. Soccer throughout the year. Here’s what each level covers and what you need to qualify.
Grassroots Licenses (4v4 · 7v7 · 9v9 · 11v11)
The entry point for all coaches. Grassroots courses focus on age-appropriate coaching and small-sided game models. Available in both online and in-person formats through ENYYSA.
GREAT FOR
- New Coaches and first-time parent coaches
- Travel Coaches (required for a coaching pass in ENYYSA)
- Anyone building a strong coaching foundation
U.S. Soccer “D” License
Designed for coaches working in the Grassroots environment, the D License emphasizes practical application, session planning, and sustained coach development—preparing you to confidently lead teams in participation settings.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Complete the Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module
- Complete at least (2) in-person Grassroots Licenses
- Complete at least (1) online Grassroots License
U.S. Soccer “C” License
Built for coaches ready to strengthen how they teach the game—linking weekly training directly to matchday performance for U13+ players. Ideal for coaches working with self-motivated athletes who love to train and compete.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a U.S. Soccer D License for at least 6 months (or meet waiver guidelines) *see below
- Have access to a U13+ team playing 11v11 for the duration of the course
U.S. Soccer “B” License
For coaches in a performance environment, ready to lead advanced player and team development with consistent week-to-week application. Coaches will build a high-standard training culture, plan a complete weekly cycle, and connect session design directly to game model demands. The B License is the highest performance-focused step before the A Licenses and Pro License.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a U.S. Soccer C License for at least 12 months (or meet waiver requirements) *see below
- Have three (3) or more years of coaching experience
- Currently coaching a team training at least three times per week
- Have access to an appropriate performance environment to complete course assignments

Coaches can access Continuing Education that support ongoing growth and specialized learning. These courses are designed to build knowledge in key areas of the game, offering practical insight and new ideas that coaches can bring back to their teams. Set up your account in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center if you haven’t already. - COMPLETE INTRO MODULE
Finish the free prerequisite video “Introductory Module“ – required before registering - SELECT ENYYSA AS HOST
In the search field under Host, select “Eastern New York Youth Soccer“ (*not Eastern New York Adult Soccer). - CHOOSE YOUR COURSE
Browse the results and click “Course Details” to register for your chosen license level.
