May 8, 2022-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) hosted a Sub Regional with our North and South Olympic Development Program (ODP) teams playing five other state associations at Afrim’s Sports Park in Colonie. Six turf fields were utilized, four of them outdoor and two indoors.
The boys born in 2005 to 2010 played on Saturday, April 30 while the girls born in 2005 to 2010 competed the next day, Sunday, May 1 with the teams playing two games. College and regional coaches evaluated the players a month before the ODP Regional Tournament.
“There were a lot of positive reactions from the different state associations to our 2nd Annual ODP Sub Regional,” explained Eastern New York ODP Director Jim Volpe.

ODP is the highest level of play in each state association and the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) has a particularly strong ODP. Crystal Dunn and Allie Long are Eastern New York ODP graduates and current Women’s World Cup champs. Because the geographic region of Eastern New York is quite large, we feature both North and South ODP teams.

With approximately 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with nine leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer. For more information, please log on to http://www.enysoccer.com/
