August 20, 2018-Happy Birthday to Chloe Antalek, who is receiving a Patricia Louise Masotto and Brenda Driscoll Scholarship from the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA). The award is based on success in high school as well as community service. The scholarship’s namesakes were best friends and top women’s soccer players from Massapequa, Long Island and Eastern New York set up a scholarship in their name after they were killed by a drunk driver in 1985.
Chloe also received an East Hudson Youth Soccer League (EHYSL) Scholarship at the EHYSL Dinner of Champions last month.
Chloe has been a solid competitor and contributor to the EHYSL's soccer program, playing for both the East Hudson Academy team and the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program (ODP) for five years as well as for club team East Fishkill Fire. She was Beacon High School’s leading scorer, senior captain and All-League Select. The Wappinger Falls resident has served the soccer community very well by volunteering to train inner-city kids at the Newburgh Armory, participating in the Relay for Life “Kick ‘in Cancer” campaign and working with Beacon’s younger girls soccer programs. She is a member of both the National Honor Society member and Beacon High School Honor Roll plus had a GPA of 93%.
We wish Chloe all the best at Nyack College!
With over 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with nine leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
