October 10, 2012-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased to announce that Laura Snyder has been named as our Administrator of the Year. Laura serves as Executive Vice President of the Capital District Youth Soccer League’s (CDYSL) Burnt Hills United Soccer Club.
Laura’s fellow board member, Dana Nemec, nominated her, writing, “Her passion for the game and for the kids to have the opportunity to play in our community shows in every conversation you have with Laura. She is a tireless champion for the Burnt Hills United Soccer Club.”
“At the last board meeting, when we tried to more formally define the position based on what Laura has been doing for the past couple of years, we all threw up our hands and decided her position was really 10 positions.”
“Laura is not only the Executive Vice President of our club but a dedicated coach. Coaches are not allowed to hold the board’s President position. She is non-stop scouting for talented coaches and trainers, wrangling deals with local indoor practice facilities, schmoozing the Town Supervisors and keeping tabs on what’s happening within the Capital District Youth Soccer League.”
Laura has taken a team of Under-8 boys and molded them into a respected and talented Under-14 team at an age when many kids are dropping out of youth sports. She is also the driving force behind the Burnt Hills United Father’s Day Tournament. The speed kicks, shootouts, referee relationships, all the items that keep the tourney fun and positive revolve around Laura.
Laura is now being considered for Region 1 honors as well.
