December 13, 2012-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased to announce that we have donated $2,000 to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation for Hurricane Sandy relief.

"If you were displaced through the hurricane or need other help, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is there to help you," commented Eastern New York Soccer Hall of Famer Burt Wilkes, President of the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL). The CJSL has also donated $500 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

"I was at their Relief Center on Staten Island and a man was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers sweatshirt so I kidded him that he’s in Jets and Giants territory," Mr. Wilkes continued. "Little did I realize that he drove all the way from Pittsburgh after filling up his U-Haul truck and also came with cash for Hurricane Sandy relief."

The sole purpose of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the legacy of love by FDNY’s Stephen Siller, who gave his life on 9/11. The Foundation does this by following Stephen’s footsteps of selflessness and love by "doing good" in his memory. It has established "In the Line of Duty" programs for Firefighters, First Responders and Military plus "Legacy of Love" programs to make a lasting and positive difference in the lives of children who have lost one or both parents.

For Hurricane Sandy victims, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has established relief centers on Staten Island, in Gerritsen Beach and Red Hook in Brooklyn plus in Long Beach, Long Island. Join ENYYSA, the CJSL, Mayor Giuliani, Carl Banks, Robinson Cano and John Franco in contributing. For more information, log onto http://www.tunneltotowers.org/relief/

With 123,843 youth soccer players––68,587 boys and 55,256 girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 12 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Special Children. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association. For more information, please log on to http://www.enysoccer.com/, which receives nearly 300,000 hits annually from the growing soccer community.
