VOB Eclipses Garden City, 2-1, in the Girls-Under-13 Arch Cup Gold Final

June 29, 2017-In a game between two Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) teams, the Village of the Branch Eclipse topped the Garden City Jaguars, 2-1. This Girls-Under-13 Arch Cup Gold final was played on Saturday, June 10 at Stringham Park in LaGrange.

Tammy Padapas and Jenna Prevet scored VOB’s goals.

“We had a complete and total team effort,” explained VOB coach Rob Tockarshewsky. “It was an exciting game and the girls responded every chance they had.”

Garden City received the Rocco Amoroso Sportsmanship Award as determined by the game officials. Amoroso started the LIJSL Sportsmanship Program in 1980, it has since been copied around the world and he spoke about the benefits of Fair Play across the United States.
