The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association Coaching Course Overview

By Tim Bradbury, Director of Coaching Instruction, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association

The ENYYSA Coaching Education Program is designed to meet the needs of today's modern youth soccer coach. We have established a comprehensive Coaching Education Menu that offers a wide variety of ENYYSA/USSF and NSCAA approved courses that cater to the needs of coaches at every level in the game. It works for both the first-time parent/coach who simply wants to know how to run a practice and make it fun to a high school coach working with advanced players. ENYYSA has a course that meets your needs.

In selecting a suitable course, each candidate should note that only our USSF courses, if passed, result in obtaining a coaching license.

Successful completion of any of our NSCAA courses results in a coaching diploma.

For those parents who wish to know a little bit about the game, its techniques and fundamental tactics, we recommend following the NSCAA pathway. For those coaches that wish to follow a more demanding learning journey, we recommend the USSF pathway.

The ENYYSA coaching education program provides:
• A program in which coaches can earn state and national coaching credentials
• A system which improves a coach’s knowledge of the game, methodology and teaching methods
• Valuable information and current coaching trends state-wide, nationally and internationally

The objective of the coaching licensing curriculum is to provide all soccer coaches, from the beginner to the advanced, with up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge, so that coaches in Eastern New York can help ensure that our players develop their fullest potential.

All courses are taught by highly qualified ENYYSA Instructional Staff Coaches who hold a variety of National licenses and have great teaching expertise. All courses must be scheduled through the ENYYSA State Office. A list is maintained at the State Office and posted on our website http://www.enysoccer.com

All courses are available in Spanish and English. Please visit us on a continual basis to hear about updates pertaining to this opportunity.

Individuals wishing to attend a course or clubs, leagues wishing to host a course may do so by contacting Tim Bradbury, ENYYSA Director of Coaching Instruction, e-mail DirectorofCoachingInstruction@enysoccer.com. An application to host a specific course and a course checklist will be sent to you via email within 72 hours of request.

The Philosophy of the Coaching Program
Coaching courses are an experiential endeavor and practical participation is encouraged. Each course is a mixture of online or classroom learning and practical sessions on the field. The higher the license or certification is typically the longer it takes to obtain. A complete description of the Coaches Education program is provided below. A complete listing of ongoing coaching licensing clinics across Eastern New York is listed on the ENYYSA website (listed above). A minimum of 18 participants must be pre-registered for any course at least five days prior to the start of the class.
