September 7, 2022-Has the team you coach or cheer on aged out of youth soccer yet you would still like to be involved with the game? Or have you recently stopped playing but still love the sport? Then become a referee!

There are many great things that occur when you become a soccer referee including you learn to manage people, you are your own boss by going directly to the customer (players, coaches and leagues), you get (or stay) fit, you expand yourself by leaving your comfort zone plus you meet the greatest people on soccer fields, all while earning money. Becoming a soccer ref could be one of the best decisions you ever make!

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is currently seeking new Grassroots Referees to be in the middle and/or on the line as assistant referees in soccer games throughout the state. The minimum age is 14 years old to become certified.

For more information on upcoming courses near you, please contact State Youth Referee Administrator (SYRA) Piero Olcese at wsropresident@gmail.com

With approximately 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 10 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer. For more information, please log on to http://www.enysoccer.com/
