June 19, 2018-In a title game between two Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) teams, two goals by Julia Lopez paced the New Hyde Park Lady Lynx to a 2-1 win over Sachem Black 06. This Girls-Under-12 Arch Cup Gold championship game in the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) was played under sunny skies at the Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview on June 9.

New Hyde Park assistant coach Roy Peter stated, “The game was between two evenly-matched teams and I thought we passed the ball really well."

New Hyde Park also received the Rocco Amoroso Sportsmanship Award as determined by the game officials. Amoroso, who died two years ago, started the LIJSL Sportsmanship Program in 1980, it has since been copied around the world and he spoke about the benefits of Fair Play across the United States.
