Uniondale Pitbulls Win the Boys-Under-15 Eastern New York Premier League Title

By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association

July 1, 2017-In a very tight six-team division, the Uniondale Pitbulls scored 11 goals and surrendered 9 while recording a 2-2-1 record, leading the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) team to the Boys-Under-15 championship in the Eastern New York Premier League (ENYPL). This was their second consecutive ENYPL championship. They won the Long Island Cup during the past two years as well.

"All this is due to the hard work of the team's coach, Victor Guerrero, and the rest of his staff, who not only have displayed great leadership skills but also a great sense of discipline," explained Uniondale Soccer Club Public Relations Director Angel Sosa. "These players have been taught that hard work and respect, on and off the field, is making them great soccer players and great human beings."

The ENYPL, organized by the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), is America’s oldest continuous Premier League, having originally kicked off play in 2001.

With over 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
