About State Cups
The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased to announce that it is adding a State Cup competition.
"The goal of tens of thousands of travel team and premier soccer players in Eastern New York is to win the State Cup," commented ENYYSA President Richard Christiano. "Due to the exponential growth of youth soccer, there is a diverse level of ability among our thousands of teams. Adding this third State Cup competition ensures that all these teams and players will be competitive in their games."
The State Open Cup, officially known as the US Youth Soccer Eastern NY State Championship, remains for Premier plus Division 1 and 2 teams but as the Open name suggests, any team regardless of division can enter. The team entry fee has been decreased to $175. Our State Open Cup champions represented ENYYSA in the Regional’s every year. Registration is open for U12 (8 v 8), U12 (11 v 11), U13 to U19 on Nov. 1, 2012 to Jan. 14, 2013.
The ENY Upper 90 Cup is geared toward teams that are very competitive but do not participate in Region I Premier or Northeast Premier League. Teams that participate in this tournament do NOT advance to the US Youth Soccer Regional or National Championships. The team entry fee is $100. Registration is open for U10 (8 v 8), U11 (8 v 8), U12 (11 v 11), U13 to U18 on Nov. 1, 2012 to Jan. 14, 2013. (Those teams that were eliminated from the Arch Capital Group Cup in Fall play, are eligible to participate in this cup. ENY understands that team make ups do change and is providing an opportunity for those teams to play.)
The third competition, rebranded as the Arch Capital Group Cup, is for travel teams that ability-wise are below the best teams in each ENYYSA league. Title sponsor Arch Capital Group writes insurance and reinsurance on a worldwide basis through operations in the United States, Bermuda, Canada and Europe, with a focus on specialty lines.
The team entry fee is $100. Registration is open for U13 to U16 on Nov. 1, 2012 to Jan. 14, 2013.
