Staten Island United Crew Top Washingtonville FC Blue Bombers, 3-2, to Win the Boys-Under-14 Arch Capital Group Cup

By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association
June 18, 2013-The Staten Island United Crew of the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) defeated the Washingtonville FC Blue Bombers of the East Hudson Youth Soccer League (EHYSL), 3-2, on June 8 at the Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview, Long Island. The Staten Island victory in this Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) championship game gave them the Boys-Under-14 Arch Capital Group Cup.
Brian Bustos scored two goals and Brody Rettle added one for the Staten Islanders.
"From kick-off to the last minute, our team didn’t let up. We played as a team and stuck together," said Staten Island coach Sinan Selmani.
Staten Island also received the Howard Rubenstein Sportsmanship Award as selected by the game officials. Now living in Ohio, Mr. Rubenstein was seemingly involved in every facet of New York soccer for decades and is a member of the Halls of Fame of Eastern New York, the US Amateur Soccer Association and the Long Island Junior Soccer League.
