By Randy Vogt, Director of Public Relations, Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association

October 14, 2013-The Northern United Soccer Club, a proud member of both the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) and Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL), is hosting the Kohl’s American Cup on Saturday, October 26 at beautiful Golden Goal Park in Fort Ann.

Nearly 500 intramural players on both boys and girls squads will be playing from 9 am to 5 pm on October 26. Each team plays four 20-minute games. The first and second graders will play 4 vs. 4, the third and fourth graders play 5 vs. 5 and the fifth and sixth graders play 8 vs. 8. All age groups use goalkeepers except the first and second graders.

The Kohl’s American Cup is a US Youth Soccer tournament exclusively for intramural players who sometimes do not get the opportunity to play in tournaments as much as travel team and premier players.

Northern United hosted the previous two Kohl’s American Cups when it was known as the South Glens Falls Soccer Club, prior to merging with the Adirondack Soccer Club earlier this year. The club serves the greater Glens Falls, South Glens Falls, Hudson Falls, Lake George and Queensbury region, providing soccer training and competition both outdoors and indoors.
