June 16, 2014-The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) congratulate the Lynbrook/East Rockaway Sting, who topped the Ocenaside Strikers, 3-1, on June 7 at the Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview. The championship game for supremacy in the Boys-Under-11 Arch Capital Group Cup was played 8 vs. 8 between two Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) teams.
Eastern New York would like to thank our sponsor, Arch Capital Group, which writes insurance and reinsurance on a worldwide basis through operations in the United States, Bermuda, Canada and Europe, with a focus on specialty lines.
Oceanside received the Howard Rubenstein Sportsmanship Award as selected by game officials. Now retired, the remarkable Rubenstein was seemingly involved in every facet of New York soccer for decades and is a member of the Halls of Fame of Eastern New York, the US Amateur Soccer Association and the LIJSL.
