The brackets are now available for the Open and Challenge Cups for the Spring State Cup competition. The Open Cup brackets are for Boys and Girls U-12 through U-18. The Challenge Cup brackets are for Boys and Girls U-12 through U-16.

 The Eastern New York Soccer Hall of Fame has four new inductees. Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association secretary Lynne Thibdeau, Region I director Bob Palmiero, long-time college coach Carlo Tramontozzi and referee Nino Catalioti were inducted during ceremonies in Franklin Square, N.Y. Saturday night. The Hall is a joint venture of Eastern New York State Amateur Soccer Association and ENYYSA.

Results from last weekend's fourth preliminary round of the State Cup are available. The Under-12 Open Cup and the Under-12 small-sided Challenge Cup scores can be found by clicking on the State Cup icon and going to the appropriate competition and age group. The next round of the State Cup will be played March 27-28, 2010.

Teams can register for the Spring State Cup by going to the State Cup page and clicking on the State Cup Login and Registration link. Registration will continue through Jan. 1.

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) will host the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Presidents Cup during the 2010 Memorial Day weekend, May 28-31, 2010. ENYYSA is teaming up with the Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL) and the Clifton Park, Saratoga and Highland Soccer Clubs to bring the regional portion of this national event to the greater Capital District area. Huntington, W.Va. -- Seven Eastern New York teams had qualified for the Region I finals on Monday. It is believed to be a record for the state association at the regionals.

USYSA Region 1 has issued the following position on the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Program:

1. Youth Soccer Region I Supports the Soccer Academy Program
2. The Region I ODP program continues as constituted and will be enhanced.  
3. The Region I ODP Cycle starts June 1 and continues to May 31 of the subsequent year and includes:

   ·        ODP Tournaments

   ·        Id & Development Camps

   ·        Inter-Regionals

   ·        International Trip

4.  In order to participate in the Region 1 ODP program, a player must be eligible to participate for the entire ODP cycle or the balance thereof.
