January 16, 2014-Would you like to referee soccer games this spring? Then take a certification course given by the Hudson Valley Soccer Referee Association (HVSRA), whose members officiate soccer games in the Hudson Valley, from Connecticut to as far west as the New York-New Jersey border. HVSRA is pleased to announce two referee certification courses this winter so that every game in the area affiliated with the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) and Eastern New York State Adult Soccer Association will continue to have certified and qualified referees in 2014.
On Saturday, January 25 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm at the East Hudson Youth Soccer League (EHYSL) office at 407 Route 6 in Mahopac, there will be a US Soccer Grade 8 Entry "Supercourse." The course fee is $210 and online work must be done before coming to the EHYSL office that day.
On Saturday, February 1 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm again at the EHYSL office, HVSRA is holding a Bridge Course for referees to be promoted from Grade 9 to Grade 8. The course fee is $125 and online work also must be done before the course.
If you have any questions about becoming a referee, please contact State Referee Administrator Enrico Romano at firstname.lastname@example.org
With 123,843 youth soccer players––68,587 boys and 55,256 girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Special Children. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
