September 29, 2011-The Arch Capital Group Challenge Cup in the State Cup continues in the Under-12 age groups, both boys and girls, with second round matches completed this past weekend of September 24 and 25. The quarterfinals will be played next spring on May 5 and 6, 2012.

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) is very pleased to announce that the Arch Capital Group Challenge Cup will expand to the Under-10 and Under-11 age groups next spring, 2012, as well. So that means that the State Cup will go back to the future as it will once again be from Under-10 to Under-19, as it was a generation ago.

“In today's market, the parent/coach is virtually extinct and professional trainers are working all over New York State and helping to improve the skills of our players and teams. It’s working as the caliber of play has drastically improved over the years and these teams have been calling on us to reinstitute the State Cup,” commented ENYYSA President Richard Christiano. “Well, we are listening to our leagues, clubs and teams and are bringing back the prestigious State Cup for the Under-10s and Under-11s next spring.”

With 120,000 youth soccer players and more than 25,000 volunteers, the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 12 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Special Children. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
