June 19, 2018-Dix Hills Liverpool of the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) shut out the East Fishkill Panthers of the East Hudson Youth Soccer League (EHYSL), 5-0, on June 9 at the Peter Collins Soccer Park in Plainview to win Boys-Under-13 Arch Cup Platinum.

Three goals by James McGlynn and two by Devon Galluzzo paced Dix Hills while Justin Barish recorded the shoutout in net.

“Our kids worked very hard and played well,” said Dix Hills coach Kevin Henniger.

East Fishkill did not return to the Hudson Valley empty-handed as they received the Rocco Amoroso Sportsmanship Award as determined by the game officials. Amoroso, who died in 2016, started the LIJSL Sportsmanship Program in 1980, it has since been copied around the world and he spoke about the benefits of Fair Play across the United States.

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) would like to thank our title sponsor, Arch Capital Group, which writes insurance and reinsurance on a worldwide basis through operations in the United States, Bermuda, Canada and Europe, with a focus on specialty lines.

With over 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Children With Special Needs. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away. ENYYSA is a proud member of the United States Soccer Federation and United States Youth Soccer Association.
