Defender Cari Roccaro has been selected to the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team to train and play three matches against Germany in Sunrise, Fla. Roccaro, who hails from East Islip, N.Y., plays for the Albertson S.C. and is a graduate of Eastern New York ODP.

The U-17 team will train from Jan. 27-Feb. 6.

U.S. coach Kaz Tambi will bring 24 players to Florida for three matches against the German U-17 team. The U.S. U-17s played Germany three times in January last year, losing two and tying one, but that German team was a year older than the Americans.

The upcoming games pit players in the same age group, born mostly in 1993 and 1994, that hope to be representing their countries at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad & Tobago later this year.
