ENYYSA's Roccaro, Simonian To Play for U.S. U-17 Team In Argentina
Defender Cari Roccaro of East Islip, N.Y. and midfielder Karin Simonian of Westbury, N.Y. will travel with the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team to Argentina in December. Both players, who were called in by coach Kazbek Tambi, perform for the Albertson Soccer Club. Tambi called in 18 players.
The U-17 will visit Buenos Aires, Argentina from Dec. 4-14 to play four international matches.
The Americans will face the Argentina U-17 and U-20 National Teams as well as combined U-17 and U-20 teams from Chile and Uruguay.
The U.S. will played a combined Chile team on Dec. 7, face the Argentina U-17s on Dec. 8 and the U-20s on Dec. 11 before finishing with the combined Uruguay team on Dec. 13.
The Americans have played three international matches this year, all against an older Germany team in Florida in February, losing twice and tying once.
The matches will be valuable preparation for the U.S. U-17s, who are preparing for CONCACAF qualifying for the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad & Tobago from Sept. 5-25.
