Former U.S. international midfielder-forward Shannon MacMillan, who was born in Syosset, N.Y. and played for the Huntington Lucky Stars, is on the ballot for the Soccer Hall of Fame.
MacMillan, a key member of the gold-medal team from the 1996 Olympics and the 1999 Women's World Cup championship side, eventually moved to California with her family.
Members of the media, Hall of Famers, past and present U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team coaches, MLS and WPS coaches of four or more years tenure, and a select group of soccer administrators are eligible to vote. They have until Nov. 19 to cast their ballots.
The results will be announced early next year.
