ENYYSA's Vicky DiMartino To Play For U.S. U-20 WNT In Spain
While her sister Christina plays for the full U.S. Women's National Team at the Algarve Cup in Portugal, forwarde Vicki DiMartino will play for the U.S. U-20 side at the 10 Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain from March 6-14.
DiMartino, of Massapequa, L.I., plays for the Albertson Fury and has been a member of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association ODP team. She also starred for the U.S. U-17 team that finished second in the FIFA U-17 world championship last year, winning the Silver Shoe as the tournament's second highest goal-scorer.
The team will play three matches against European U-20 teams, taking on Norway on March 9, France on March 11 and Germany on March 13. The roster features six players from the USA’s 2008 U-17 Women’s National Team that finished second at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand, including the Mewis sisters, and Samantha and Kristie, the latter of whom won the Bronze Ball as the third best player of the tournament.
