Cold Spring Harbor, L.I. native Alex Grendi has been named the Marty Glickman men's outstanding Jewish college athletes of the year by the National Jewish Hall of Fame. He will be honored during Hall of Fame ceremonies in Commack, L.I. on Sunday, April 26.
Grendi, a midfielder who played at the University of Pennsylvania, was selected by the Columbus Crew in last month's MLS SuperDraft.
Grendi, an Eastern New York ODP grad who played his youth soccer for B.W. Gottschee and the Albertson Red Storm Clash, played for the Long Island Rough Riders in the Premier Development Soccer League last summer.
