ENYSoccer.com Editor Michael Lewis was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America at the organization's banquet in Baltimore Jan. 18.  The certificate is given by the organization for outstanding achievement in and service to the sport. It is rare for the NSCAA to honor journalists.

According to NSCAA officials, Lewis was honored for his body of work. Lewis, who has written about the sport for 34 years, covers soccer for the New York Daily News and is editor of BigAppleSoccer.com, among other journalistic pursuits.

"I am stunned and quite honored," Lewis said. "This award came out of nowhere. I truly appreciate the NSCAA's gesture because there are so many people deserving of recognition as well. I would like to thank the NSCAA and its officials for this honor."
