 Policy On US Youth Soccer National Championships

 Age Amendment To The USYouth Soccer National Championships Policy

Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association will return to Stringham Park in La Grange, N.Y. to hold the ENYYSA Championships -- also known as the Open Cup on Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6. Finals in the Boys and Girls Open Cup Under-12 through U-18 groups will be held in La Grange, the site of the championships in 2008 and 2009. ENY will hold the Challenge Cup at the Peter C. Collins Soccer Park in Plainivew, N.Y. on Saturday, June 12. Rain date is June 13. The Open Cup Boys and Girls U-19 finals are scheduled to be played that day.

For the first time, four Eastern New York teams are vying for titles at the U.S. Youth Soccer nationals. The teams competing in Lancaster, Mass. include three boys teams -- the Dix Hills Thunder (Under-14), Hicksville Strikers (U-16) and East Fishkill Thunder (U-18) and one girls team -- Syosset Rough Riders Elite (U-16).

Huntington, W.Va. -- Four teams from Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association -- the Dix Hills Thunder, East Fishkill Thunder, Hicksville Strikers and the Syosset Rough Riders Elite -- earned Region I championships on Tuesday.

Huntington, W.Va. -- Seven Eastern New York teams had qualified for the Region I finals on Monday. It is believed to be a record for the state association at the regionals.
