Huntington, W.Va. -- Seven Eastern New York teams had qualified for the Region I finals on Monday.  It is believed to be a record for the state association at the regionals.

They were the Manhattan Kickers (Boys Under-12), Dix Hills Thunder (Boys U-14), East Islip Red Dragons (U-13), Hicksville Strikers (Boy U-16), Syosset Rough Riders Elite (Girls U-16), Albertson Fury (U-17) and East Fishkill Thunder (Boys U-18).

A quick synopsis of the results:

* The Manhattan Kickers, one of two ENYYSA teams in the Boys Under-12 division, defeated Lehigh Valley United (Eastern Pennsylvania), 3-1. The Kickers will play Beachside (Conn.) at Barboursville Park Field No. 13 for the title at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

* For the third time in as many years, the Dix Hills Thunder reached the finals. Dix Hills survived a close semifiinal encounter with the FC Delco Cannibals in the Boys Under-14 division on Monday morning, defeating the Eastern Pennsylvania team on penalty kicks. The final score of the match was 3-2. Last year Dix Hills earned the Boys U-13 regional title. Dix Hills, which qualified for the regionals by winning the Region I Premier League title, will meet the New Jersey Soccer Academy 04 in Tuesday’s final on Field 8 at Barboursville Park at 8:15 a.m. NJSA is coached by former U.S. National Team and MetroStars midfielder Tab Ramos.

* The East Islip Red Dragons edged the FC Bucks Revolution (EPA), 1-0, to reach the Girls U-13 finals. The Dragons meet the PDA Slammer on Field A at Barboursville at 10:15 a.m.

* Hicksville reached the Boys U-16 final by defeating Synergy (Vt.), 2-1. The Strikers will face the McLean MPS Hurricanes (Va.) in Tuesday’s final at 10 a.m. on Field 4 at Barboursville Park.

* The Syosset Rough Riders Elite needed extratime to overcome Hockession Academy (Del), 3-1, in the Girls U-16 Division. The Rough Riders will meet Montclair United in tyhe final on Field 9 at Barboursville Park at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

* The Albertson Fury also moved on, outlasting the VISTA Shockwave in penalty kicks, 2-1, in the Girls U-17 Division. The Fury plays the PDA Fire at Barboursville Park Field 4 at 10 a.m. Friday.

* East Fishkill blanked Spirit United Premier, 2-0, in Monday morning’s semifinal in the Boys U-18 group. The Thunder will take on PDA Cruyff (N.J.), which downed the VE Blast (EPA), 3-0, at Barboursville Park Field 2 at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

Teams from U-14 through U-19 are playing for a chance to perform at the U.S. Youth Soccer nationals later this month.

In the other semifinal results:

* FC Westchester dropped a 3-1 decision to Beachside (Conn.) at Boys U-12.

* FC Westchester was eliminated by the Bethesda Fire (Md.), 1-0, in the Boys U-13 division.

* The Clifton Park Cobras lost to VYS Premier Red, 2-0, in the Boys U-12 small-sided (8 v 8) division.

* The Albertson Fury lost in the Girls U-15 semifinals to FC Stars of Mass. (Mass.), 1-0.

* The Albertson Fury dropped a 2-0 decision to the Freestate Shooters (Md.) in the Girls U-19 semifinals.

* The Yonkers United Tornadoes were eliminated by TBD (EPA), 1-0, in the Boys U-19 semis.
