72 Teams From Southampton to Plattsburgh Playing in the Eastern New York Premier League This Spring

February 28, 2017-The National Football League plays most of its games on the weekend yet kicks off its season on a Thursday night. The same applies to the Eastern New York Premier League (ENYPL) this spring on Thursday night, March 2 at 7:30 pm at John Burns Park, there will be a Girls-Under-14 local derby between the Massapequa Fire and Massapequa Fury to kick off the 2017 ENYPL Spring Season.

72 teams from all over the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), from the Hamptons to Plattsburgh, will be competing in the ENYPL this spring. More than half the teams come from the New York City metro area with, in order, New York City, Long Island and Westchester having the most teams. The all-star line-up of teams:


The ENYPL is the oldest continuous Premier League in the United States and enters its 17th year in 2017. It is organized under the expertise of ENYPL Chairperson Andreas Touros and now has both spring and fall seasons.

The finals for the upcoming Spring Season will be played on Saturday, May 20 at Kissena Park in Queens. It’s the same venue for the ENYPL All-Star Showcase the next day, Sunday, May 21.

With over 100,000 youth soccer players––both boys and girls––and more than 25,000 volunteers, the non-profit Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) stretches from Montauk Point, Long Island to the Canadian border. Members are affiliated with 11 leagues throughout the association, which covers the entire state of New York east of Route 81. ENYYSA exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 19 years old, and to encourage the healthy development of youth players, coaches, referees and administrators. All levels of soccer are offered––from intramural, travel team and premier players as well as Special Children. No child who wants to play soccer is turned away.
